Toyota MR2 Club Netherlands is an association of and by the members.

Of course, we have a driven board, but fortunately our association also has a great many enthusiastic members who dedicate themselves to the association in one or more areas.

This is not only in the form of “fixed tasks”. Our members also help spontaneously.

For example, while setting up or dismantling a meeting.

But writing a short piece for our MR2 Magazine or for our website also falls under this.

Fortunately, we have no shortage of enthusiasm.

And the nice thing is that new members get infected with this enthusiasm.

Sunday morning, eight o'clock. The organizers (and later the founders of Toyota MR2 Club Netherlands) personally greet the participants of this special MR2 day. There are over 80 MR2s present.

The Toyota MR2 Club Netherlands was founded after a special MR2 day on September 15, 1991.

The day opens in collaboration with Toyota importer Louwman & Parqui. First, a drive to the Zandvoort circuit. Upon arrival at the circuit, a slalom course had been set up. After the slalom, all AW11s and SW20s drove several laps around the Zandvoort circuit.

After the laps on the track, a drive followed to Van der Valk in Tiel. A hot and cold buffet awaited the participants there. During lunch, the possible establishment of an MR2 club was discussed.

After lunch, the MR2s continued their journey, arriving in Raamsdonksveer at our Toyota importer. Here, the museum and the dome were visited. When the participants were asked if they wanted to become members of the Toyota MR2 Club Netherlands, the answer was (almost) unanimously "yes".

Toyota MR2 Club Netherlands was founded on January 29, 1992. Since then, Toyota MR2 Club Netherlands has grown into a well-organized, active, and above all, sociable association with members from all over the world!
